Hoffman got into acting in college, because someone had told him that “nobody flunks acting”, he did however end up flunking out of college. It did give him the acting bug though, that and not wanting to work or go into the service. Thankfully, he did pursue this “alternative” to doing anything, because he ended up doing great work in movies such as The Graduate, Tootsie, Midnight Cowboy, Kramer Vs. Kramer and Rain Man. Anyone notice that we didn’t include The Fockers movies in his resume of great work?
